Here at Alycia Yerves Creative, we love Christmas.
The moment Santa arrives in Herald Square, we're READY.
Once that final piece of Thanksgiving dessert pie has been eaten-- the holiday candles are lit, the seasonal TV specials go on constant repeat, I add another 200 songs to my ever-growing playlist (more on that later), and we get down to business.
(slap)
Guys-- make no mistake, we're fully aware that plenty of folks are happy to hang a single candy cane, heat up some Swiss Miss, and call it a day.
But that just ain't us.
We cannot WAIT to haul out the holly and make our space Holiday AF. We have 2 home headquarters here at AYC, and during the holidays we refer to them as the North Pole and the South Pole.
We work from home and believe it is so important to make your work spaces cheerful and comfortable, and a reflection of your own personalities-- no matter the season.
And so, after being super inspired by holiday decor blog posts from Megan Martin Creative, Turtle Creek Lane, and many more, we wanted to help get you into the Christmas spirit by showing you how we deck the halls around these parts.
We are always adding to our collections as well, because we are suckers for punishment.
(Full disclosure: we had an insanely busy November and therefore are a bit delayed in untangling our tinsel this year-- but we're fervently working on getting everything magazine-perfect as fast as possible! Stay tuned for an update post w/ the reveal for this year.)
In part 2, we'll share some tips along the way to help keep you organized, sane, and energized throughout your festooning fest!
For now, please enjoy our decoration tour from last year!
"THE SOUTH POLE"
I went for a turquoise / silver / white / teal color scheme that featured a mix of coastal, boho, and crafty DIY accents with textures like wood, cable-knit, burlap, and glitter. I loved coming home and just taking in the scenery and the quiet.
True story: I left up these decorations until April. Because why not?! :)
"THE NORTH POLE"
Here, we went for a more traditional/rustic/cabin feel with a lot of reds, greens, golds and browns. This vision featured a mix of woodland, homemade, antique and vintage accents comprised of textures like jute, wool, copper, and glass. We felt like we had stepped into a cozy winter lodge retreat and over the season we must have gone thru 4 full size jars of our favorite seasonal Yankee Candle: Santa's Pipe.
And, every proper holiday abode deserves it's own candy bar:
Hope this starts to get you into the holiday spirit!!! Stay tuned for part 2, where we'll reveal this year's decor.
Don't forget--
IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! :)
PS: As our gift to you, feel free to stream our Spotify playlist -- several years in the making -- which has nearly 100 HOURS of curated holiday tunes to underscore your decorating, parties, shopping, and wrapping!
PPS: We really, really love Christmas. Here's the AYC team at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom last month. It snowed on Main Street... pretty awesome!
